A quick note to welcome you to the site and the Talk Squash Forum in particular!
Ours is such an amazing sport ... may this forum be a place for the same passion, energy, enthusiasm and respect that we try to exemplify on the court.
Best regards,
Shawn |

Shawn like from squashlive??? Cos that'd be why you guys have different new videos. This is great Steve will have competition and is gonna have to start being more understanding and deleting less posts or everyone will come here. _________________ My drop shots bring all the boys to the yard yo! |

Hey Bendi, welcome to Squash360!
Nope, not that Shawn ... he's a far better squash player, but I'm better looking (at least in my wife's eyes)
Here are my details:
http://www.squash360.com/Contact-Directory.html
RE: Steve, he has and continues to do a tremendous amount for our sport and truly loves squash. We might have some differing opinions and approaches, but ALL of us in the sport need to:
- avoid seeing eachother as "competition"
- instead look for ways to collaborate, co-operate and synergize
There is room (and indeed our sport would benefit from) a diversity of coverage, approaches, whether it is squash websites, magazines or whatever. The goal should be growing the pie, if my ramblings make sense. |

We hope to create a Forum with a:
High Tolerance for: a range, diversity of opinion, respectful discussions, banter
Zero Tolerance for: offensive, abusive, libellous remarks
Community of Posters: that self-police, rebuke and otherwise use "moralsuasion" to bring people back on-side when they stray outside the norms of appropriate conduct (some public comments and private messages from the squash community, I believe are more powerful and appropriate than the heavy hand of a website moderator)
more later if things get out of hand
Again Welcome! Invite your friends and help us create a vibrant, thoughtful, fun on-line squash community!
Signed,
Shawn PATTON (not Delierre) : ) |

I don't really like corkscrew. All he does is make useless comments and not reply to anything. It'll be good if he does leave _________________ My drop shots bring all the boys to the yard yo! |

Like it or not, you've made a reputation for yourself. Some people don`t understand or appreciate your manner, tone, line of reasoning or means of communication.
Please focus on topics, ideas, issues ... negative petty, meansprited personal attacks will NOT be tolerated.
Feel free to discuss things in strong, colourful, passionate language ... put try and do so constructively and respectfully
I really truly do not want to censor or muzzle discussion, but am hopeful of building a healthy vibrant and constructive Forum
Thanks!

Hey Bendi,
RE: vids
I simply reached out to Jean at www.squashlive.com for his permission after outlining my hopes and goals for the site and our sport.
In everything I endeavour to do for the site, I try and look for win-win-wins: squash360 - other person/business - our sport
RE: the videos I hoped to offer something I thought would attract and entertain people and am trying to reciprocate by giving Jean/www.squashlive.com visibility on the site via deeply discounted banner advertising
Thanks:
- for your interest
- for adding to the Forum in a positive way

| Great site Shawn. There is some great content on here. I especially like the JP Interviews (although it was buried at the bottom of the home page!). |

thanks, its a struggle, a never ending treadmill really, to try and keep site fresh, adding content not just tournament results (Howard Harding is absolutely incredible at providing all these tournament recaps or our site and all the others - THANKS Howard)
RE: interviews, know what you mean, I keep bringing the interviews back to the top, but as we add more recent stuff it makes its way back down .... for the people watching the site stumble along the past few months, the article is old news, but for everyone else .... why isn't it more prominent
appreciate the feedback, keep it a comin positive and constructive
All the best,
Shawn |
