I've noticed that the Dunlop balls are constantly breaking now... roughly every 2nd time I play now. What's with that? I'm outraged at their shoddy performance.

I can`t say I feel that strongly, but compared to 2 or 3 years back the durability of the Dunlop balls seems shorter. Balls don`t seem to last as long.

So you admit that the durabiltiy is different but aren't bothered? Myself, I am quite bothered by this as the prices are increasing and the technology is decreasing... are you a sucker? Hmmmmm... so in this day and age, the ball technology/engineering is getting worse!? But yet prices are increasing? Anyone can figure this one out...

This is simple marketing trick even if Dunlop guys will hit their chest ...
The balls are famous now, have reputation, so they need to sell them more and more and more,
meaning... producing "bit dodgy quality" stuff now and then.

In my humble opinion, the ball does not mean too much for club players (like we are in majority),
and we can hit Dunlop, Wilson, Price, Karakal, Feather or Prince balls. I bet you would not spot the difference
if you play Dunlop ** on one court (and the ball is warm already) and Wilson ** (the same conditions of the court and ball).

I did that trick on our last league matches, when I came earlier to warm up. I brought my own Wilson balls (official balls for the league are Dunlops).

The rest of the club-mates came and they played the same level of squash with Wilson and Dunlop. Did they sense any difference? I bet Wink

I just bought a ball yesterday and it didn't even make it through a match... still got the writing on it and clearly visible. We're both 'hardhitters' but still... not even one match?!! Shocked

Yep, that's one more match and one more dead ball. I hit hard but no harder than I did a few years ago. I'm not going to buy Dunlops anymore. One ball per match?!!! Ridiculous!!

hey corkscrew, I'll bet you 10 times out of 10 I'll spot the distance between a Dunlop and a Wilson, Crapakal, Head, or Prince ball. I'll bet you $500 I notice every time, just like anybody else would...

And why would you break the league rules that everybody expects to be upheld? Just so you can use the ball that you're used to... didn't you say they're all the 'same'. Every league I've played in provides the balls so why would you switch the ball to a Wilson if they're the 'same'? Again, good job.

After playing with the others, I guess I'm stuck with the Dunlop. The others are just garbage.
