What does everyone think of doubles squash? Seems like some fun that shouldn't become a serious competition. It's hard enough getting regular courts let alone building and having doubles courts (about a metre or so bigger I believe) It's not that fun watching it either. The rallies go on forever. Some players it would be fun to watch but. The team of John White, Ramy Ashour vs Greg Gaultier and Shabana I would pay to see but that's about it. If we were to have olympics I don't think we should chuck doubles in. Noone practices specifically for it like tennis players who specialise in doubles. It would be let's pair them together and hope for the best. _________________ My drop shots bring all the boys to the yard yo! |

| I don't really like doubles very much. I've played a few times... maybe will again sometime, maybe not. I'll probably only play again if I go to a club that has a court and I can't get a softball court. I've tried softball doubles and enjoyed that though those courts are probably rarer than the hardball doubles court. I only know of one in Ottawa. Even doubles on a regular court is allright with good players. |

| On a 'league night' at a neighbouring club there was also a 'doubles league night' on too. In a cramped bar/ lounge the topic of what was better, singles or double naturally arose... it went on for a bit... I just couldn't help but notice that the doubles guys played in vests and multi-layer clothing ensembles... the singles guys t-shirt's were drenched with sweat. And yet they still stood by their argument that doubles was harder... So in conclusion, doubles requires far less running, more clothes...buts its still harder...according to the guys in their fancy embroidered sweater-vests (worn on court!) versus the sweat-covered singles guys. |
